Surveying Sunday Late

Yup, we're late, but mommy promised me she'd post and post she did. She had lotsa laundry and cleaning to take care of. She didn't get to vacuuming, and she opened ALL THE WINDOWS, even the ones by my village, so I can forgive her for being late.
Then, stoopid blogger wouldn't let me publish my post!!!

Finally I get to use the most awesome scoreboard Zoolatry made me (see the bottom of my bloggy for the great layout). The Bengals won!!!! If I was a bun, I'd be doing a binkie right now. Please let Marvin the Great fire that Defensive Coordinator so we don't have so many close calls.

Finally the Bengals won!! We won!!

Next week, we're playing our arch-nemises the Pittsburgh Steelers. It'll be a claw biter, but I have faith in my team to come out victorious.

Midnight Monday - Halloween Village

Ah, more minions for me to rule! Yes, daddy and I got 2 more houses for "mommy's" Halloween Village. I love having a bigger kingdom to rule.

Here is the new Hotel/Saloon. The doors open and a skeleton cowboy comes out and invites you in for a "shot" and other skeleton cowboys shoot out the windows! Scary.

Here is the jail. Bendrix doesn't like the idea of a jail in our village, but I told him it is for minions who do not worship us as House Panthers such as us deserve. He likes it now.


My awesomely royal friend Yao-lin gave me, Bendrix, an award! Whee!! I loves awards. I try hard to be entertaining.

We'll tag our kitties in a bit. Mommy has to get back to work. Sigh, she isn't working from home until Thursday this week cause 2 people are on vacation. How dare they take my mommy.

My sweet Brandi also gave me a Halloween treat award. We'll post that tomorrow!

I have not forgotten about the desktop meme, mommy has just been lazy and has to figure out how to make it work. She says something about "no brainpower" today. Bendrix sayz, "What, just today?"

Saturday Fun!

First, mommy's birthday was lotsa fun. Daddy and I got her 2 new houses for my, um, I mean, HER, Halloween Village. We got her the Hotel/Saloon and the Jail (look out Bendrix!) She loved them and set them up immediately. She said next year she'll need 2 card tables and probably one tv tray to set it up right.

What has been fun the last few days is the cooler weather. Monday October 8th was 90 degrees, the rest of the week has been in the 60's. Yippie! That means open windows.
Bendrix loves the cooler weather. How do I know this? There are only 3 places in the house we aren't allowed up on. The kitchen table (the dining room table is OK), the kitchen counters and the top of the player piano....





This is when mommy yelled "NO! Not the hatbox!"

Mommy's Birthday

Hi all! Today is my mommy's 32nd birthday. I can't tell her what daddy and I got her cause she might read this and it won't be a surprise.

I love mommy so much that I let her enter me in Karl's noms Halloween costume contest. I had no idea it would involve me looking like this.

Look, I know I've put on a little weight, but why an elephant?


Bendrix says you'd better sleep with one eye open tonight....

I have another outfit mommy wants to get pictures of me in and then she'll decide which photos to send into the contest. sigh. Bendrix won't be happy about this at all....

Lucky Mancat

I have to say, I am one lucky Mancat. I have such a pretty girlfriend cat. Her name is Brandi and she makes me all goofy when I look at her.
Isn't she pretty?? Those silky furs...

She is like a princess sitting on her couch. So regal. Sigh.

If only I could be snuggled next to her. She even makes Bendrix blush! She certainly is my sweet lady cat. She is always so nice to everyone and takes time to visit even tho her computer can be slow. We are almost at our One Year Anniversary! it was at Smeagol, Strider,Mystery & Gizmo's November Birthday/Gotcha Party last year that Brandi agreed to be my ladycat love. It seems like just yesterday...

First, I want to say thank you to everyone who is supporting us in the campaign to get NBC and The Office to apologize for this awful story line where Dwight kills Angela's cat.

Mommy has been uber busy getting ready for a trade show and a big sale at her jobbie (she does the Marketing) but we have NOT dropped the ball on our quest to get contact info. We too sent an email and got a generic response from NBC. We are following up with a slew of letters to NBC, the Office writers and the 2 characters involved. Letters (or phone calls) are usually read more than emails according to research by the Humane Society of the United States.

Although most of you do not watch the show regularly, we suggest that you watch this episode online at NBC.com so you can reference some of the more awful lines (and some like where Dwight says to Angela after admiting he killed her cat Sprinkles "I know a great taxidermist. I'll pay to have her stuffed. Well he's not great, but he's pretty good." are worse than others.)

We have turned my blog pink to support Breast Cancer Awareness Month. We want to thank Gretchen for taking the lead in starting this. We have all been affected by this disease (my mommy's grandma and 2 aunts). We hope the cure comes soon.

Ticked off Tuesday

Mommy finally sat down and watched the premire of the Office on NBC. We've loved that show for years and own the first 2 seasons on DVD and wanted the 3rd for mommy's birthday next week. BUT she watched the premire episode and we are angry.

How dare the writers of the Office make a joke out of Dwight killing Angela's cat! For those of you who don't watch the show (and you can see clips from it on NBC.com), Angela asked Dwight, her boyfriend, to go to her house at lunch and give her sick cat Sprinkles her medicine because she couldn't.

Dwight took it upon himself to poison the cat with antihistimines until he thought Sprinkles was dead. Then he put Sprinkles in the freezer. We find out later that Sprinkles was NOT dead when Dwight put her in the freezer. She woke up inthe freezer, Angela said in a later scene she found her frozen foods shredded,and of course, died in the freezer.

Dwight said it is because he is "a farmer" and he wanted to put the sick cat out of its misery. Angela is of course mortified but everyone else acts as though it is "just a cat" and no big deal.

I also saw an episode of "Back to You" last Wednesday where Kelsey Grammer recieved a fish that, of course, was killed by (sarcasm) ha ha, him not knowing how to take care of it.

What is wrong with these writers? AND after the Michael Vick nightmare and the food poisonings this summer, and just plain human compassion, why aren't more people standing up and saying this behavior is NOT funny, it is cruel?

My mommy is going to write letters not only to the writers of the Office, but to NBC AND the advertisers on this and subsequent episodes (this story line will continue) asking why they are supporting animal cruelty as a joke.

It is time people stand up and say, animal death is not a joke.

Go to NBC.com and select the Office. We will follow up with more contact info for advertisers and phone numbers and addresses for NBC as we get them.

I hope you will all support a letter writing campaign and will boycott the Office as well as its advertisers until we viewers receive an appropriate apology.
