Great news!!!! Mason Update

Hi! Luckily the first updated news we have is great news. Thank you so much for your purrs and prayers. They really helped! Here is the update:

"Thank you all SOOO much for your prayers! Mason was able to come home with us
today, and it appears he will make a 100% recovery. No permanent organ
damage. He'll still be on fluids and meds for awhile, and of course, no park
(that's really sad...), but he's going to be OKAY!"

He can only go in the yard for limited periods of time and no walks or trips to the park. In time the damage to his kidneys will heal. That is such awesome news. We actually have sunbeams for the first time in 6 days today. I think even the sun is happy. I'll celebrate by napping in one of those sunbeams.

Bendrix is so happy he is going to knock over all the picture frames and hide in the stinky boy's tent

BTW, Mason's humans had to have blood work done to make sure they didn't have the disease too. So far so good but it takes 4 weeks to know for sure they are all in the clear. purrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrs

Purrs and prayers needed please

I know I haven't been around much, but I need many many purrs and prayers today.

My woofie cousin Mason is very ill. You can read his rescue story here

Here is the updated email we got from this morning.

"Was not himself this week so I took him to the vet. Most people wouldn't have
even noticed the few times he was "off". But I'm lucky enough to see him a lot
and really understand his normal.

They did bloodwork, and he had really elevated sodium in his blood. He has
severe kidney damage. Still working on the cause. Could be a bacteria infection,
could be worse. Not sure if we'll know today or not. We're just up here laying
on the floor of the vet with him. He's acting fine, just tired, and on IVs.

We'll update you when we know anything or later today, whichever comes first....

Please send him love. "

The VET thinks it could be Leptospirosis.

It has only been three years since the evil cancer took Sonny, their woofie that came before and we aren't ready to lose another family member.n

Where are the lovely sunbeams??

Even tho it was cold over the weekend (ice storm on Friday!), we had some great sunbeams shining in. Today, today, just wind rain and cold.

My beans have been busy busy with work and cleaning stuff and also sick. I've been on nursing duty and I am totally wiped out. We did lots of this stuff these past couple weeks.

My mommy was so tired she didn't even check her email for four days! Everything is settling back to normal and we'll hopefully get back to blogging regularly.

My mommy even cleaned out her email box. She unsubscribed from every story email she received but two and also all the emails from groups she has donated to. She just kept losing good emails with the spammy stuff.

She hopes this will help declutter her brain too! I think it will take something more like a shopvac to do that. ha ha ha

My beans have also been exercising and eating better. Luckily no one has said the "D-I-E-T" word to me. The year of the dragon is starting off with nommy treats for me!

Easy Like Sunday Morning

ah, nothing like sleeping in with my human daddy on a chilly, Sunday morning.

We appear to have recovered from the New Year's Eve party and my beans have spent the week dismanteling the Christmas holiday cheer. The tree is still up but that will come down today. I'll miss hiding from the boy under there.

Recovering from the Bengals' big loss last night will take longer than my beans' hangovers last week. I never knew that cats could roll over like that. I mean, I've seen dogs do it, but never cats.

It was a surpurrisingly good season so we all got our hopes up. Total bummer of an ending tho. We're comforted by the fact that the Bengals are the youngest team in the NFL and the Steelers are just getting older and older.

Getting Ready for 2012

My beans are getting ready for their annual "lock the kitty in the 'safe room' to keep him away from all the noise and beans (including lots of sticky little people)" New Year's party extravaganza. I'm glad to be locked up safe, but it stinks I'm all by myself. At least I'll have a plate of stinky goodness to keep me company.

I'm a big helper. I make sure these hanging decorations are all on tight.

Stinky stinky boy wins again Saturday

So, the stinky boy has been around for what? 29 months? Yeah. I've been here for seven years. Seven years!

I get the sofa most of the time, but sometimes I have to share space. I get to sleep on a chair by a window. I get the space under the Christmas tree. I share a queen sized bed with two, TWO beans. And frankly sometimes I get kicked, or moved or rolled on in the night.

The little shnit gets this.

I don't even get to share with the stinky boy even if I wanted to cause he has a "child proof lock" on his doorknob so they door has to stay closed.

Why don't I get a bed? A bed all to myself? Santaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa! I wanna big bed with a quilted top and a soft fleecy blanket puhleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease!

I wonder if I can trick him back into the crib and then the bed will be all mine! Mine I tell you, mine!

Now, old friends will remember the glory of my Christmas Village.

Last year the village was stuck in the dining room where it was fenced away from the stinky boy and any damage he would have done (not I said WOULD have done).

Now, this year, mommy has been uber tired so she decided to "trim down" the decorating. My village is a pale shadow of it's former self but still, I was very excited to see my minions back. Bendrix is so ready to start ordering them into mischief.

We were very excited that mommy said she was going to get a new piece to make up for having to leave so many boxed up. What would it be????? Then we saw it....

That's right. She got a VET's OFFICE! I don't even know what to say...except thank Bast it is a doggie in the window being treated.

I think the only Christmas present she'll get from me is a hairball on her pillow in at 2am. There is a word for people like her, but this is a "clean blog." Bendrix says it starts with a "B"

Thursday Thirteen Thanksgiving Edition

Happy Thanksgiving to all my American friends, and my friends around the world who celebrate on different dates. I'm thankful for you all (OK technically that is 14 things...)!

Today I am thankful for many things but I'll limit them to just the thirteen.

1. Having a warm safe home with a loving family

2. Having enough food to eat and clean water to drink

3. Catnip

4. Having places to hide from the stinky boy

6. Having a clean litterbox

7. Soft sofas to nap on

9. My beans letting me sleep on the bed

10. Mommy's Nook. She doesn't have to get up and turn the lights on when it gets dark so I don't have to be disturbed

Wow, we are partying like rock stars (and I should know). We've got hairballs and shrimp tails everywhere, mommy had to repair the stinky boys bean bag chair (that made for good whapping!) and she had to make another run to the meat counter at the grocery for us.

The stinky boy has been kept busy watching college football on the little TV with daddy (we've of course taken over the big screen) but I'm sure you'll all agree that when he turned his nose up at his ham for dinner and started throwing it on the floor (where I was laying) things got interesting. One bite for him, two thrown bites for me.

I'm glad you're all here to share my awesome present!

Mommy and daddy have scooped the litterboxes, refilled all the water dishes, food trays and reshelved the book shelves and are going to bed early. So, lets play that Caddyshack dancing gopher and bounce on the sofas (then hack up more hairballs on them...)

Hi everyone! It is my NINTH birthday and my SEVENTH Gotcha Day today! Wow. It has been 7 years since this picture was taken.

On November 3, 2004 I was a scared, sick, semi-feral kitty. I didn't know what was going to happen when I was plucked off the side of the road by my beans. I had no idea I'd have a warm, safe place to live (and my mommy says with a chuckle "grow"), a loving family (stinky boy only semi-included) and have all these great blogging friends!! My mommy celebrates my Birthday and Gotcha Day on the same day since she said my "birth day" doesn't matter. My real life started on November 4th.

This is me in 2007 that so many of my friends came to.

Many kitties weren't as lucky as me. When my beans found out I am FIV+, they decided to give me the best and healthiest life I could have. I gotta say, I'm loving it.

I hope you'll all come to my birthday weekend bash. The beans will be around, but they promised to keep the stinky boy away from all of us as long as I keep off the bookshelves.

Note, I promised I wouldn't get on the bookshelf, not Bendrix and not any of my friends! Start climing and whapping!!

Fab Friday & Super Saturday Early Birthday Edition

So, I turn 9 next week. November 8th to be exact (the big story will come next week...)

But mommy went to the petstore for kitty litter yesterday and got some presents for me so she'd be prepared. It is important to note that it has been many years since I've gotten "new" toys. I've been happy with my regifted ones cause there are many kitties (and beans) who have none but still, my mommy felt bad.

So, this year, she has some extra green papers and decided that I'd been so good with the stinky boy I deserved something great.

Because I'm going to get TWO presents for my birthday, she told Joel that he could give me my gift early. So I got it Friday, one week early!

Doods! It crinkles! And it has a "watch window" so I can see if the boy is coming! Cool!

Finally We're Back on Friday

We are so glad to be back and plugged in. First, the stinky boy got stinkier with a tummy bug. I don't know what kind of bug that was, but mommy had to get the carpet shampooer out. Gross. Then mommy got it. Gross.

Then the boy got a cold. Then mommy got it...and a sinus infection. I'm telling you, stinky beans are petri dishes of germs!

Then, stinky boy + mommy water + laptop = sad sad sad

Mommy blames herself for leaving the water and laptop unattented. I blame the stinky boy.

Anyway, a couple weeks after that, mommy decided that she'd had enough, she bought another laptop. She got a good deal. I got a 17 inch screen to look at!

I'm thrilled. Right now we're hanging on the sofa blogging. Mommy made some pretty strong statements when she splurged on this laptop. One of them is keep up with my blog.

What do they say about the path to H@ll being paved with good intentions? sniggger. Mommy and I hope she keeps up, we miss you all,

We're also bummed because my daddy is going away on Sunday. He'll be gone for a week. I won't get any attention. sigh.

Also, the stinky boy has learned my name. Sorta. He runs around calling "Hengrich! Hengrich, wanna come and see my car?!?" "Hengrich! Wanna come and sit with me on the bean chair?"

Fun with Friends on Friday

One of the happyish (I say "ish" cause I wasn't invited) things that kept my beans busy was going to the Atlanta area to visit my aunt, uncle and cousins. While they were there, mommy got to meet the human members of the Purrageous Pirate family!

You may not know that thru a magazine called Victorian Decorating and Lifestyle, mommy and the furry Purrageous Pirate kitties mommy "met" and became pen pals. That was twelve whole years ago and this was the first time they met in person!

They got to go to tour the historic Oakland Cemetery and had a nommy lunch together. Mommy said now she knows why the area is nicknamed "Hotlanta." Wow it was hot! The sweet tea made it all worthwhile she said...that and the wonderful company.

She was so very happy meeting her dear friend Catherine in person. She still smiles and tears up every time she sees the pictures and thinks about it.

I laugh cause even tho my stinky boy is two years old, he was shorter than the Cabin Boy who is 4+ months younger! ha ha ha The Cabin Boy sure looks nice and cute. I wonder if he gives his kitties a break or if they take turns. Like tag team wrestlers.

Mommy said being at Oakland Cemetery with the 20 Union soldiers and the 2500 Confederate soldiers buried there was even more moving and emotional because they went over 4th of July weekend. We are very glad we are still one country that can celebrate freedom together (especially with grilled chicken...and salmon)!!!

Mommy will never forget meeting the human Purrageous Pirates or the fun she had in Hotlanta...and the tea...

Wow, it has been almost a month since I posted. That sux big time. Things have been totally crazy busy around here. I won't go into it, but needless to say if things don't slow down you might be reading about a wine shortage in the Ohio region...

On a happyish note, the stinky boy Joel turned two years old on Sunday the 10th.

I'd like to say that is a good thing, but the older (and more mobile) he gets the more annoying he gets to me. I know I'm the "bees knees" but jeez. How about a moment's peace???

He doesn't get that a hiss means "back off bub!" He thinks it is funny. Then when I pop him (closed paw of course) he cries and says "Joel sad" and then I feel like crap. Mommy and daddy have been very understanding and walled off the dining room with "baby gates" that have a pet door for me to squeeze thru. But, I don't want to spend all my time off by myself just to get a nap!

So, happy birthday you hairless monkey boy. Now let me sleep.

Things have been very interesting around here.

The gates are back up around the dining room because Joel has been harassing me so much. I get that he thinks I'm in the bees knees (I am after all) but sometimes I need a break. It used to be that I wouldn't go in a gated off room because I felt apart from things and didn't want to be "given" my territory. Now I am perfectly content to hang there until the boy settles down or goes for a nap. I'm still getting plenty of attention so it is OK.

My beans tiled and painted the kitchen and painted a bathroom and they are happy with those projects being done. All the patio tiles daddy put in 2 years ago were all screwy so he is redoing those with grout. I'm glad I'm just in the A/C while they sweat it out doing yard work.

Then my mommy has been having eye trouble for a couple months now. She thought it was allergies or dry eye or something like that. Turns out it was a bad reaction to the gas perm contacts she has worn for 25 years. She has little abrasions and a lot of irritation. She can't wear contacts for 3 weeks (then switch to soft lenses) and has to squirt steroids in her eyes.

Do you think she'll become a good baseball player now?

Now she has poison ivy all over her arms, legs and even her face! ha ha ha snort Um, I mean, it is really terrible. That is what she gets for taking a perfectly good "Joel Free" day (when he goes to a grandbean's house for an entire day) and wasting it outside doing yard work instead of hanging out in the A/C with me, petting me, giving me treats and generally putting me at the center of the universe...

I'm kinds sick of her whining so I hope it clears up soon.

Anyway, the weather here has gone from March to August so we're all sweating it out like crazy. I hope all of you are doing well and staying safe.

So my bean abandoned me to go to see a six foot giant rat (the "head of an evil corporation") at the happiest place on earth (in my opinion that is a warm bed of clean laundry or having the bed to myself with a plate of stinky goodness by my side) and totally abandoned me!

Aw, so they needed a vacation. So they had a good time. Whooptie freakin do.
My lazy nasty mother didn't even leave the computer open so I could have a House Trashing party. Grrrrrrrrrr

Bast stepped in and took care of part of my revenge. When they got home there was water all over the basement. Thank Bast I don't go down there when they aren't home. I still need something else to get back at them. I just can't decide what...

I did have a nice girl come stay with me. She even stayed overnight (she didn't open up the Mancave so didn't see the water!) It was nice to get a break from the stinky boy even if I missed mommy & daddy. It was nice to have someone's undivided attention...

Now the beans having to fix that water stuff and finish other house projects (like tiling a backsplash in the kitchen, painting and finishing another bathroom). I say if they weren't such lazy butts 90% of the time they wouldn't have to work so hard all at once. Mommy actually agrees with me!

I've been pretty spoiled since they've been back. Lotsa lotsa nip nip nip and pets. Also a cool new birdie toy from a "Happy Meal." It makes me happy...

We are very sad to have finally had a chance to get to blogging and discover that Sweet Praline went to the Rainbow Bridge.

We have always enjoyed visiting her and her mom and she will be missed. Her mommy is a very special and brave person and the posts she has done in tribute to Sweet Praline this week are inspirational. It really reminds us all how much we kitties/woofies/buns/feathers etc are loved by our humans. Her mommy is bringing her her home today to please keep her in your thoughts.

We are also purring and purring and praying for the people and animals effected by the catastrophic weather in the South. Our hearts and thoughts are with them.

We are sorry we have been away so long. The stinky boy woke up pulling an exorcist a couple weeks ago and since then has had a cold and an ear infection. It has been a mess.

I did feel bad for the little monkey while he was puking, but had to chuckle when he lost it all over mommy's face, hair and shoulder. I have to find humor everywhere.

Then, just when I thought that was one of the funniest thing I'd ever seen. Mommy did this (can you see behind me???) for the first time in months. Panting, swearing...ha ha ha

Daddy started a new jobbie and mommy is getting used to hers. She had to do a big project from home last week too while the monkey boy was sick. I've had a decent amount of petting and scritching time, but blogging and Facebook got neglected.

The other big problem is that we updated to IE9 and couldn't "publish post" because of it (causes a "javascript void" problem). Apparently that is a big problem with IE9 and blogger so DO NO UPDATE TO IE9. Mommy finally got it fixed by downloading Firefox. IE9 sucks big time.

So lately I've been chillin out under the stinky boy's crib at bedtime. Yes, I've been locked in the nursery three times. It is so nice under that cavelike dust ruffle. It is warm, humid and quiet in there too...and I can make sure that little t*rd stays quiet.

Anyhoo, I've heard that Goodnight Moon story about a bajillion times now and it has occured to me that those kittens should be ashamed of themselves. How could they just hang out playing and then have a good night sleep while that little mouse is on the loose? Seriously.

I mean, I'm uncertain I even like the little sticky boy sometimes but I wouldn't let some little dirty (but delicious) mouse hang out on the windowsill while he slept. I'd totally eat that thing. Oh man, now I'm hungry.

Yup. Spring is almost here and boy do we need it. I'm posting on mommy's phone rite now. We are still here and for the most part OK. Mommy has been in a funk cause the store she has worked at for years and loves is closing. She has been extra busy wrapping things up there.

Naughty Words on Wednesday

OK, so mommy has said many words off the naughty list this past week and blogger is a big reason for it.

First, the power cord or power jack port on the laptop went bad last week so we're out that until it gets repaired possibly sometime this year.

Second, the desktop, although nice enough, is in a room that is NOT kid friendly (but is cat friendly) so we've not been able to visit much and can hardly update our blog linkys cause mommy can only be up there a little while.

That leads us to whine about blogger. My mommy has some linkys that just won't save. A good example is our friends at the Katnip Lounge. They are a blog, the address even says "blogspot" and yet, we can't get blogger to add that link to our blog list.

Any thoughts on how to fix this issue? As much as I like seeing mommy frustrated, it is cutting into my snuggle time...

Happy Super Bowl Sunday! It truly is a super day here because we have great news. The temp job mommy has been at since last August asked her to stay on for good! She'll still be working part time (and working her part time WFH job) there so I'll still have her home four days a week and she'll make a little more money.

Yippie! What is nice is that now, she has a jobbie she can count on and can stop stressing and job hunting. She is already more relaxed and I can only benefit from that.

We are totally looking forward to Puppy Bowl VII on Animal Planet today too. Don't forget it starts at 3:00PM. Mommy DVRs it and keep it all year long (until the next one). The stinky boy J loves the "Bissel Kitty Halftime Show."

We are crossing paws and hoping against hope those slimy Steelers lose and lose big.

OK, between daddy being gone and the beans being trapped in the house by the frigid weather and great white death falling, the stinky boy has been using me as his main source of entertainment and exercise.

Finally, on Monday, I'd had enough. I ran and ran and he chased and chased and tried to hug the stuffing out of me. Finally I hissed and hid under the table where the boy couldn't get to me.

Then this happened.....

The whole time he was going "kitty, kitty!" Yup, that is the picture of me on top of the table I was hiding under.

sigh. Now I feel like crud. Mommy said "honey, he just loves you so much he can't help himself."

I feel much better now. Sometimes a House Panther just needs to shread something. Now it it time for a nap.

Things were wild here last week. Daddy had to go away on business with very little notice, the stinky boy's sitter got sick and then the stinky boy did too! Nothing major, just sore throat and achy (he never runs fevers). Than it snowed and iced and got so cold that mommy couldn't even run errands cause the garage door froze to the floor.

Luckily daddy got home on Saturday safe and sound but I lost my spot on the bed again. sigh.

Mommy says that she's had enough "family togetherness" and is ready to go back to work tomorrow. I'm ready for the boy to go to the sitter's and stop terrorizing me. I think he has had enough time stuck at home too! I can't wait to have the bed, sofa, loveseat, laundry hamper all to myself! Where to nap first? Anyone want to come over and enjoy an empty house?

Updating, blogging & VET Appointment

Holy moly! Mommy is stinking royalee with her resolution to help me blog more. She says that by the time she works her two part time jobs and does job searching, she "just can't look at a computer anymore." I say, "hey, Whiney McWhinersen, you're not looking at the computer, you're looking at my awesome friends."

So, here we are.

Some really lucky good news is that mommy's temp job asked her to stay until the end of February. She is 95% sure that that will be the end of the jobbie since they just hired someone. She is still hopeful. Cross your paws. She doesn't just love the extra green papers, she loves the actual job itself and the beans she works with. Apparently this is a very rare thing and she says it makes her sad she will probably have to give it up.

Some other great news. I had my yearly VET appnt today. I got a clean bill of health (except for the FIV+ of course)! They were nice enough to give us a discount on having my teeth cleaned since I was already under the gas.

Yes, Bendrix reared his pawsome head, fangs, claws, fur and bloods flew and we wound up going into the gas bin.

I am a little concerned that my, um, spot number 13 is sore. I heard something about being "expressed" but I've never had that spot hurt from expressing myself on my blog or to my beans before so... I'm chalking it up to not hearing clearly cause of the gas.

So, I'm taking the stinky boy's laptop and taking my blogging into my own paws!

PS My mommy got a new phone that has the internets (her old phone fell and broke on a stone floor a couple weeks ago). She hopes to help me visit while she is at lunchtime at her jobbie from it. They block Facebook, blogger, tiwtter, You Tube etc so she has to use her phone.
So, if my comments are short and misspelled, sorry, she is a crappy text typer.

Wow, another year down. What stinks is I didn't get this one quite right and now I have to start all over. sigh. Maybe I had to much on my resolutions list. I'll be sure not to do that again.

We had a great Christmas. I got "my" green fevver on a stick and catnip bags that were "freshened up" in my dehydrated home grown nip.

I'm losing my traditional "safe" room to some blurpy thing's pack-n-play and I'll be shoved into a closet (Mommy interupts: It isn't a "closet." Getting our Christmas cards out has been a trial of epic proportions culminating in the final straw of our printer rollers getting clogged and not printing black ink (like for the addresses!). So, we'll be emailing out our card. We hope you think it is worth the wait.

Mommy is so sad. She saved enough money to have them printed and yadda yadda yadda, they are still sitting here unmailed. Sad.

TBIF. Thank Bast it is Friday! I can't believe it has been so long since I posted! Things have been crazy here both bad and good. We'll focus on the good stuff first. I missed posting on my daddy's birthday, but he had one and it was fun. I got extra stinky goodness just for fun. I like getting extra stuff for no reason, especially cause the stinky has been in demand here.

Don't get me wrong, according to mommy I have plenty to eat, but I'm not getting extra stinky anymore cause I was "going thru it to fast." I don't get that. Now I only get a nibble (mommy here, you get a 1/8 of a can) twice a day! sigh.

Funny story, Joel has a toy that he squeezes and says "squish." Now he does that to mommy's tummy. She doesn't find it funny.

It has been "frigid" and snowy here. We got 6 inches this week! I'm glad I'm a former feral and stay inside nice and warm and cozy.

Mommy's temp job got extended into January and that is cool! She got a hint that it may turn into something even more permanent. We hope so. Mr. Bill is such a jerk coming every month and making my beans sleep crappy. When they sleep crappy I sleep crappy.

My mommy is already working on her new year's resolutions. One is to schedule her time better so we can blog and visit our friends more. I hope so. We are very sad, especially this time of year, to miss our friends.

We will be posting our Christmas Card Sunday! Due to a lack of green papers, and wanting to save papers from going into the garbage, we will be doing like last year and electronically sending and posting our cards. We hope everyone likes it!!

My new favorite thing is to jump up on the player piano keys in the middle of the night. You may ask "why don't your humans cover the keys like smart people would?"

Well, it used to be closed all the time, but the stinky monkey boy keeps lifting the cover up and smashing his fingers so now the beans leave it open. Then they forget to close it before bed.

Their mental hiccoughs are my entertainment...over and over and over...

House Panthers like hunting from great heights, but unfortunately, the keys don't lend to stealth...

Hi all! I hope you had a great Thanksgiving and enjoyed some extra treats. I did get some nommy turkey and hammmmmmmmmmmmm. What is crazy is my beans get TWO Thanksgiving dinners and the turkeys that were served weighed more than the stinky boy!

But this weekend I even got something more special.

Thanks to my good friend, and nose twin William....I got Cheez-Its!!!!

I am soooooooooooo thankful all year round for my friends...and bags of Cheez-Its. Maybe next time I'll get to eat the entire bag.

We have lots to be thankful for this year and so much of that has to do with our loving family and friends, including all of you! In these difficult economic times, we are greatful for the roof over our heads, the clothes in our closet and the food in our bellehs.

I am especially thankful to get a share of my bean's foods today. They have TWO Thanksgiving dinners at my two grandbeans houses. They will have TWO turkeys and a ham. Each turkey weighs more than the stinky boy. Wow. Can you imagine?

The weather is cold and rainy up here so I'm again thankful to have a warm, loving forever home. I'll be by myself most of the day so anyone who wants to come over and hang out is welcome. My beans put up the Christmas trees (with lights but no ornaments yet) to get the grabby one (aka Baby Joel) used to them. We can climb climb climb!

Today, remember the good things you have to be thankful for and put any worries aside for one day.

PS Don't worry friends, I have not forgotten to thank Bast for the glorious gift of catnip.

Mommy put my new collar on me Monday! I really like it. I think it is very appropriate that it is in a very cool pattern.

Can you tell? Mommy bought this back in August when my old collar had to go and after it was put on, we realized the very appropriate timing.

I am so glad my daddy is home. We're hoping he won't have to go back next week. sigh. But, with the nicer weather, my tummy feeling better and daddy being home, I've been playing like crazy. With my mommy getting her head out of her...um, hat, I've actually got action shots to share!

Holy Bast it is my birthday! Oh my gosh! How did I lose track of time? Must be old age setting in. ha ha ha I am 8 years today AND it is my 6th gotcha day.

Well, my birth date is kind of a guess. You can read my Gotcha Day/Birthday story in my sidebar. It is hard to believe it has been 6 years since I was a skinny, scrawny feral kitty.

OK, here is the deal, I'm going to finish this post when we can do it justice. Our internet has been wonky for months now and everytime I try to upload a photo I knocks me off. Mommy only got one uploaded onto Facebook. I want to show you all the neat stuff my friend sent me.

I hope that some of my daddy's overtime pay (he worked 86 hours last week in Calif and he isn't done yet!) can get us a new router and new wireless box so our computer will work. That is what the techy guys said and they've done all kindsa stuff up there.

Cross paws we get things fixed soon! It is so frustrating to barely be able to post and visit.

Happy Halloween everyone!

When mommy said no one but the stinky boy would have a new costume this year, I made much rejoicing.

But I didn't realize that meant she'd dig out an old costume and shove me in it! She'll see what a devil I can be if she tries this again!

After such a rough week, we have had many reminders of the great friends we have made on the blogosphere. More on that later this week!

Things have been hard with daddy being gone. Both mommy and the squirt have colds and are coughing and snarfing. I've been pretty good about letting mommy give me my meds all by herself.

We hope you have a great Halloween of all treats and no tricks. I'll be safely tucked away behind a closed door where no I can't get out and won't get hurt or scared. I hope you will all be doing the same! Even my grandbeans are coming over to keep us company!

Sneaking on Saturday

**Hendrix whispers** OK sticky little booger. Lets get the plan for this week together.

At Midnight on Sunday (these are much more fun when the beans have to get up for work) I'll puke on the carpet right where mommy steps when she gets up.

At 12:15AM when it is still warm but nice and soaked in, you start wailing your head off. Then when she is coming to help you, she'll step right in it. She'll have to take her socks off on her way out. She hates cold feet with moist puke on them.

Then you fall back to sleep around 1AM.

At 2:45AM you sob like your heart is breaking and you're in pain and when she and daddy come up to help. I'll jump up on the bed, puke on the comforter and snuggle in.

When they come back, they will find puke on the bed. They'll be so tired they'll either have to sleep under the puke, or go get my soft blue quilt and afghans I like to sleep on so much.

We'll let them sleep after this, but you get up an hour earlier than usual (around 5:45AM) so I can get treats early.

Thinking Things are Tough

Hi all! It has been a tough week here so we haven't been around and mommy's brain is going on hyperdrive which is not helping me blog.

The stinky boy has been waking up every hour on the hour for 4 nights (he has a drs appnt tomorrow) and we don't know if it is more teeth or tummy troubles.

I'm sick with a lung infection and puking. AND it cost mommy $2.00 more than her last week's paycheck to take me to the VET. X'rays, blood tests etc. All and all I'm looking good with counts, but my lungs have congestion. Now I'm getting meds squirted down my throat twice a day cause I wouldn't take the pills (yup, mommy had to buy the meds twice!)

Mommy is concerned again cause I haven't eaten my stinky goodness for 2 days (but have eated crunchies) and I puked this morning. I may have to go back to the VET! While she was cleaning it up, stinky boy spilled his milk all over the carpet. I'll give him this, his timing is perfect. heh heh heh

Also, it looks like mommy's temp job will be ending next month so she is stressed about finding something else.

AND my daddy is leaving on Sunday for a work trip and may be gone between one and THREE weeks. We are very sad and stressed about that since the grandbeans are also gone and mommy won't have any "baby back up" to give her a break.

Can you please send some good thoughts, or bottles of booze our way? We could use them!

PS You'll all be happy to hear that Bendrix got his street cred back by slicing the VET's pointer finger and a VET tech's arm.

Finally Friday - My Missing Collar

Some of you may have noticed, but as little as we have been around you may not have, that I have not been sporting my cool blue collar and blue heart ID tag lately.

(this is an old picture but a good one!)

The reason is this.

When I went to the VET last time I may have wrestled just a bit and my breakaway collar may have come off on accident and that is a good thing because I had a big rash and bald spots on my neck where my blue collar had gotten irritating.

Mommy bought me a new collar but has been waiting for the rash to go away and for some of the hair to grow back. At this point she thinks it has grown back as much as it will.

She wants to put the new collar on but needs some advice first. Has anyone else had this happen? If not, what type of collar to you wear. Any advice on non-irritating collars? We've not really had a chance to "google it"

I am microchipped so a collar isn't completely necessary, but since there are so many stray cats (sad) in our area due to a lot of farms, mommy wants someone looking out the window to know I belong to someone right away in case I ever get out.

Happy 35th birthday mommy!

Why mommy deserves to have a happy birthday.

Cause even when her back goes out like the other night and she is in pain and wants everyone to leave her alone, she makes room for me on the sofa.

Cause she gets two small pumpkins at the local pumkin patch. One for me and one for Joel. Most people would not buy a pumpkin for a cat, but I even got to choose which one I want!

Cause she makes sure my litterbox gets cleaned every day and I get fresh food and water.

Cause she always falls for my "I really really really needs a stinky goodness fix" bit even when she shouldn't cause I've already had extra.

Because she rescued me off the side of the road and made me a loved family pet!

No fair! She warned me. She even said it last year, but I still kept looking for boxes and bins and a table. Why? Because I wanted my minions. My pawsome minions. My pawsome Halloween Village minions.

But, thanks to Joel, mommy isn't putting it up this year. She says she doesn't want to be picking minions out of his diaper. I am not happy about this.

Stupid things my mommy says:

Asked about 2.5 seconds before that disproportionate, clumsy little boy steps on me while he toddles by screetching at the top of his voice.

I think I'll telyport over to visit my sweet lady cat Brandi. She has lots of nice quiet places to snuggle and nap in and her mommy is always good for scritches.

Finally Friday - Afghan Weather is Back!

Hi all! After 2 days of 75 degree weather, it is back into the lower 60's and I'm loving it. Open windows mean lotsa sniffin sniffin sniffin birdies, squirrels and what nots and cool breezes.

I love the cool breezes cause my mommy went into "mommy mode" and fussed about me being to chilly. Then I got tucked in. Stay away for just a bit Bendrix, I need some pampering!

Great news all! You know how mommy's temp job that was supposed to finish this week? They asked her to stay on until the end of November! She said it is nice to be able to pay some Bills off. I say, I'll beat up those Bill guys and then she can stay home with me! I miss her, but she is less stressed with more green papers coming in.

Snoozy Saturday and Sunday

Hi all! Thanks everyone for coming to my party. My humans are soooooo confused. I know our house didn't have to far to go, but we did an awesome house trashin on Thursday and then after the beans stayed up late cleaning, they got home Friday to a huge trashin again!

Whoo hoo! Thanks for all your help.

Finally I'm getting the treatment I deserve. I got breakfast in bed Saturday morning.

I'll also get a somewhat snoozy Sunday today. After my beans get finished spoiling me and playing with me, they are going to take the stinky wild obsessed with me boy to a Reine- Rines- um, Faire place where people dress funny and talk in old time speak. I told them to get #2 a court jester hat. snigger. It would fit his personality perfectly.

Crazy Weekday House Trashin Pah-TAY

Welcome friends to my amazing, crazy weekday House Trashin Pah-TAY. As far as I know, nothing like this has ever been done before. A wild and crazy party while the beans are still in town, but are hunting and gathering.

I've got fresh water to keep us hydrated, and plenty of catnip and snacks to keep us carbed up.

Crazy Weekday House Trashin Pah-TAY Invite

shhhhhhhhhhhh, the beans are still up. Yeah, you read it right. Thursday and Friday will be my amazing weekday house trashin pah-TAY. My beans are still in the area and they will be going about their regular schedule.

Why am I doing this? Because I didn't get to have one while my beans went away for an ENTIRE WEEK!

The way I figure it, we'll go bonkers trashin on Thursday. Then I'll hide all the tools and pretend to nap on the sofa right before they get home. They wont' have a clue what happened. They'll get the place all tidied up Thursday night, and then we'll do it again on Friday!

Lets teach my beans a lesson in abandoning me they'll never forget!

I'm going to start tonight. Up on the table where I'm NOT allowed and then making sure no one uses those paper towels or gets to read that paper.

Labor Day - My Interpretation

So, Labor Day. Beans get very excited about it. I'm not sure why. I mean why get excited about day dedicated to labor?

But, then my beans told me that they are both going to be home for Labor Day Monday...and I got excited. I realized it is not just a day dedicated to them laboring for green papers.

It is a day that the beans who are owned by furry/feathered animals get to stay home and work for them for free! See, my beans will be feeding me, petting me, keeping the sticky smelly whiney boy away from me. And, if I play my cards right (and I totally will) I'll even get breakfast stinky goodness in bed.

Happy Labor Day all! Work your beans hard and take advantage of the extra time you have with them. Then send them back to work on Tuesday to make green papers to buy you treats, toys and stinky goodness
